Dear all,

Here is a nice initiative, having in mind that we cannot meet for seminars
at the moment. Different speakers, focusing on different interest areas.
Find more info here: https://twitter.com/EvoEcoSeminars

They have a Slack group for questions and suggestions, and will be
broadcasting the talks on youtube!

Stay safe and healthy.

Best,
Andreia

Hey all,

Thought this idea is cool (and it's contents might be of interest, speakers
too from varied fields too) and we could also implement it for our remote
Summer School.

Cheers
Megha

Dear all,

this could be an interesting initiative, an international virtual seminar
series in behaviour, ecology and evolution during the pandemic. The first
talk is next Wednesday by Iain Couzin from the MPI for Animal Behaviour.
You can follow it on Youtube and ask questions via Slack.
cheers
Christoph

Dear all,

Hope you are doing well and staying safe in the uncertain times.

In a bid to bring people in our community together and facilitate
alternative ways of scientific interaction during lockdowns, a group of
postdocs from UEA in Norwich, UK and UBC in Vancouver, Canada set-up a
series of Evolution & Ecology Seminars.

This is a really nice initiative that is rapidly gaining pace. The plan is
to run up to three seminars per week. They have an amazing line-up of
speakers (please see below) and it is going to be a lot of fun.

This has been advertised mostly on social media but we want to reach as
broad audience as possible. So this email is just to help spreading this
further.

Below I copy-paste their letter that outlines the details, presents the
necessary links and the first speakers.

Please come to listen, ask questions (on Slack) and spread the word among
people who may be interested.

The talks will be run on Zoom but broadcast on YouTube. I strongly
recommend to join the Slack group as well where you can ask questions.

The first talk is by Iain Couzin (Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour,
University of Konstanz, Germany) next *Wednesday, April 8, **5-6PM BST /
9-10AM PST*.

Best wishes and keep washing your hands,

Alex

*P.S. I am sure many of you will have suggestions - please direct them to
the organisers on Slack!!!*

"Dear all,

We are organising an online seminar series in Evolution and Ecology and
would like to invite you to join the online community of evolutionary
biologists and ecologists, for our upcoming talks.

We are a group of postdocs from the research groups of Alexei Maklakov,
Simone Immler and Judith Mank at UEA and the University of British Columbia.

Now that many departmental seminar talks and conferences have been
cancelled or postponed, we believe there is a great opportunity to replace
that otherwise missing stimulus, and to keep our international research
community connected. To that end, we are inviting some of the most exciting
scientists in the community to share their research.

When: 5-6PM BST / 9-10AM PST, first talk next Wed 8 April, up to 3
seminars/week Mon, Wed, Fri
