Provided that the requirements are met, remuneration will be based on the collective agreement for the public service of German federal states (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder, TV-L) or, if applicable, on the respective civil servant paygrade (Akademischer Rat auf Zeit, A 13). The position is full-time, but candidates wishing to work part-time may also be considered.

> The position will be based at the recently established Department for Global Change Ecology where we do research and teaching on biodiversity under global change. A key task of the successful applicant is envisioned to be the collection of experimental data, e.g. on the physiology and dispersal of insects and the integration of this information with data from different biological and geographical disciplines (e.g. biogeography, ecology, climatology, eco-morphology…). The taxonomic focus could be set on the orders of Orthoptera, Odonata and/or Lepidoptera, and you should be willing to do integrative work, including experiments, fieldwork, and data analysis/modelling, but the exact research profile will be flexible, depending on your interests, skills, and experience.
>

> • Integrative research on the responses of species and biodiversity of insects to the interacting drivers of climate and land-use change
> • Teaching in global change ecology (5 SWS = 5 weekly contact teaching ours during the semester)
> • (Co-)supervision of BSc and MSc thesis

> • Strong motivation to conduct innovative research and teaching on biodiversity under global change
> • Experience and interest in experimental and/or field-based work with insects
> • Very good ecological and zoological knowledge, ideally in at least one of the fields of global change ecology, entomology, physiology, macroecology, biogeography
> • Willingness to combine data and approaches from different biological and geographical (sub)disciplines
> • Excellent experience in statistical analyses and programming in R, as well as in scientific writing and communication
> • Experience in teaching and supervision is beneficial
> • Strong ability and willingness to work in a team and motivation to help build a new, vibrant research and teaching environment
>
> What we offer:
> • To become part of an international and collaborative team with modern facilities
>
> • Opportunity to build your individual research profile
>
> • Networking possibilities with different national and international collaboration partners

>
> • Access to the support systems of the University
>
> • Regular participation in international conferences, retreats or workshops
> • An attractive workplace on a growing campus with good infrastructure
