Dera All,
This seminar might interest you. He spoke a few years ago at an iDiv conference and was very impressive.

> "Priority effects: insights from nectar microbes and ongoing efforts with sPriority"
>
> Abstract: Priority effects--where species arrival order and initial abundance alter how species interact locally and, consequently, how local communities assemble--are gaining renewed interest over the past decade. I will discuss one example of systems where priority effects have been studied: metacommunities of nectar-colonizing bacteria and fungi and their interactions with plants and pollinators. Combined use of natural history observations, field and lab experiments, and mathematical and simulation modeling on this system is elucidating the conditions under which priority effects are particularly strong and the taxonomic, functional, and evolutionary consequences of priority effects in community assembly. In addition, I will briefly discuss what we are doing in sPriority, an iDiv working group to synthesize evidence for priority effects across the entire literature, which includes papers not just in ecology, but also other fields like biogeography, parasitology, and epidemiology, to name a few.
