[Mitarbeiter.zoologie] Are bees declining or bee taxonomists?

Hi everyone,
Last week another study on bee decline was published (see attached).
The paper shows that bee species richness in the Global Biodiversity
Information Facility (GBIF) declines even though sampling effort increased.
Some argue it might be related to that taxonomists are getting rarer?
Zattara and Aizen have analyzed the dataset until 2015. Would be
interesting if, with more and more barcoding, that trend is reversed? Or at
least not as dramatic.
