Dear all, 

quick freezer update

all -80C freezers (apart from freezer 1) are working and are at around
-80 degrees. The freezer is at -20

The big computer has a lot of green lights turned on and is making
noise. I don't know how it should be like when it  is working normally,
so please apologize my bad description. 

I am not sure if the air condition should be on, but it seems to be not.


If you want me to check out something else in the room or need more
details, please let me know.

Hi all

I just quickly went to check / fix the big computer in the freezer room
which, since the freezer problem, could not be reached anymore. It was
indeed off - seems that plug it was attached to didn't supply any power
anymore, perhaps related to the freezer problem (??). I plugged it in
normal plugs next to the machine and rebootet it. Should be available as
normal now.


@Andreia: you need to restart your analysis, it will have been killed
somewhere in the middle

Positive side effect: the USB3 card is now working. Seems all the
fruitless efforts to get it running a while ago just needed a reboot (so
thank to the freezer ;)

The freezer temperatures just now (24.10., ca 20:00 were from left to
right: -75 (freezer2), -80 (freezer3), -80 (MolEcol), -20, -58
(Physiology?). So they seem to catch up now.

Dear All,

Thank you to those of you who have been into the lab today to help
resolve the -80C freezer problems.

The old -80 freezer seems not to be working and is now off till further
notice.
The middle -80 freezer was at -40 and is now (2 hours ago) at -65 so
seems to be working again
The newest -80 freezer is OK, hovering around -80, working fine

The physiological zoology freezer seems to be not working; it hovers
around -26C
The physiological zoology -20C freezer was off but is now working again

Simon’s two ant cages are broken and not attached to electricity

Anna, if you are (or if anyone else is) going to the lab on Sunday,
please check our two -80C freezer to make sure they are around -80C. If
they seem to have stopped working, please phone the weekend emergency
technical number:

0172 3 60 19 63

They will arrive within 39 minutes out-of-hours i.e. any time of day or
night over the weekend.
