I think we are just so many people that it will never be perfect for
everyone. For me around midday is perfectly fine. So everyone can have
is own biorythmen. If we have it early in the morning it is difficult
for people that prefere working in the evening and if we have it late in
the day it is more difficult for people that prefere to start work very
early. I anyway try to plan my day with a break in the middle for lunch
so having the meetings in the morning or in the afternoon would just
create another cut for me. It will always be a cut, either at 9, 12 or 4
for some people. So i would "vote" for leaving everything like it is.
And yes I agree that they are important.

Best wishes from sunny australia,
Anja

Good Point. But What about raising this issue in the lab meeting and
propose a better time, that would fit those who are interested rather
than Just Not showing Up.

I appreciate the paper discussions a lot and I think i learned a Lot
through it. So thanks for keeping them running.

Best,
Julia

Hi Anto,

I didn't attend due to lab work which is cut in half by a meeting at
13:00 and thus I would loose an entire day. The same reason was for
Fran
and Tabea. Any lab work heavy projects really suffer from such cuts
(same labmeeting, same seminar talks etc ...). Additionally the paper
was decided/sent around 2 days before which gave me no time to read it
properly. So yes I agree its important and as much as I would want to
attend, the above factors largely prevent me from doing so.

 Best,
 Eckart

 dear all,

attendance to the paper discussion was very low today.

if you are a student, whatever your subject is, you have a lot to learn
from our paper discussions and probably also to contribute, specially
and particularly if you ask questions.

if you are a senior researcher, you could help me, panas, simon and
robert to answer those questions and keep the discussion going.

the higher the number of brains, the more interesting and sharper the
 discussion is.

a lab is a community of scientists that interact, exchange ideas and
one
opportunity for this exchange is the paper discussion. another are
 presentations.

a lab is a community of scientists at diffeernt level that take and
give. being part of a community bring some privileges. and with
 privileges come responsibilities.

you take when you want feedback on your talk for example, you give when
you attend test talk of others and give them feed-back

the busiest of all of us is robert in this lab and he does not miss any
of these events, if he is in halle.

if he does it, we can all do it

 antonella
