Do not miss the chance to present your research, half-baked ideas, hypotheses, experiments, code, theories etc. etc. to the iDiv consortium with a talk, a poster, or a demonstration! This year’s conference will be combined with the iDiv Summer Fest.

> About the iDiv Conference
> The iDiv Conference, which is taking place on 29 and 30 August in 2019 at the Leipziger KUBUS (UFZ), is the most important annual event to bring experienced and aspiring scientists together and to provide a platform for scientific exchange, networking and new collaborations within the iDiv consortium and beyond. This year, the conference will feature Topic Sessions reflecting iDiv´s Research Areas in the DFG renewal proposal.
>
> Two keynote speakers will present their exciting research: Marie Stenseke <https://es.handels.gu.se/english/units/unit-for-human-geography/about-us-contact-us/staff?languageId=100001&userId=xsmarc> (University of Gothenburg) and our very first CO2-neutral keynote lecturer: Catherine Potvin <http://biology.mcgill.ca/faculty/potvin/> (McGill University, Canada) who was invited by the yDiv PhD students. Being a scientist involved in biodiversity and climate change research, Catherine Potvin attempts to reduce emissions wherever possible. She, therefore, decided to only use aplane to reach her field sites in Panama. Although face-to-face meetings with such a renowned scientist are inspiring, we support this decision and look forward to a CO2-neutral remote lecture (maybe the start of a new format for iDiv keynotes?) - that will be as equally fruitful and enjoyable as the traditional ones.
>
> Another highlight will be a panel discussion with Sepp Settele and other iDiv scientists on the first day titled “The IPBES global assessment - catalyst for future iDiv research”. For young researchers, we offer two sessions on career development in cooperation with yDiv, registration will open soon.
