<div>The Bundesrat is called to request a consideration of an AfD ban by the responsible Bundesverfassungsgericht. Only the Bundesverfassungsgericht can ban the AfD with its anti-human and anti-constitutional statements, as was the case with the NSDAP and the KPD. <br>A current legal opinion by the German Institute for Human Rights (Deutsches Institut für Menschenrechte) concludes that the AfD fulfils the criteria for a ban. You don't have to be in favour of banning the AfD to support this petition. Anyone who values democracy should be committed to considering all democratic resources in its defence. If a party is seeking to abolish democracy, it is democratic to ban that party.</div>
