Die forschenden Institute haben ihren neuen Bericht für das Jahr 2022 vorgelegt: Die Winterverluste waren vergangenes Jahr erhöht. Hauptgrund waren der Varroa-Befall und damit einhergehende Viruserkrankungen. Ein Mix aus Forschung und individueller Beratung soll in Zukunft eine noch effektivere Varroa-Bekämpfung ermöglichen. Die Verluste der Monitoringvölker lagen im Winter 2021/22 im Durchschnitt bei 18,3 Prozent, schwankten aber regional zwischen 8,7 und 32,5 Prozent. Eine Schlüsselrolle kommt dem Befall der Völker mit Varroa-Milben im Herbst und den damit einhergehenden Infektionen mit Viren zu. Völker, die im Winter 2021/22 starben, hatten einen höheren Varroa-Befall (9,4 Milben pro 100 Bienen) im Vergleich zu überlebenden Völkern (2,6 Milben pro 100 Bienen). Besonders hervorzuheben sind 16 Verbundprojekte, die innovative Maßnahmen für gesunde und widerstandsfähige Bienen sowie bestäuberfreundlichen Pflanzenschutz und Pflanzenbau in Agrarräumen entwickeln. Die Vernetzung und ein gezielter Wissenstransfer werden durch die verbundübergreifende Maßnahme „Beenovation“ sichergestellt. Ein weiterer wichtiger Aspekt: Datengrundlagen. Dafür arbeitet die BLE im Auftrag des BMEL im Projekt „Monitoring der biologischen Vielfalt in Agrarlandschaften“ (MonViA) mit. Im Teilmodul genetisches Monitoring von Honigbienenvölkern wird erstmalig deutschlandweit die Vielfalt der Honigbiene erfasst.
